Second Half 2008

We’ve had a very fun and fast first half of the season. Now it’s time to look forward to the second half of the 2008 season. I know all of you are busy planning your family vacations and summer activities, but we need to start to get a firm commitment for the most important part of the racing season; the Aldo Alessio and Rolex Big Boat Series.

As you must know, the Aldo Alessio and Rolex Big Boat Series are the ultimate regattas in the Bay Area where the big guns all come out to show there skills and expertise. Zamazaan has been racing the Big Boat almost every season and has consistently gotten better and better as her crew and equipment got better and better. To that end, this year we are striving for the best equipment to date combined with the best possible crew.

In order to achieve the latter, we are looking for a committed crew for the entire season, one that will be there for each and every training session in addition to the actual races. Additionally, we are looking for some “ringers” and the opportunity to add some special crew in the hopes of making the best possible competitive crew for the regattas.

So, now is the time to check your calendars and sign up for the second half of the season. The race schedule is listed below. The mandatory events are listed in PINK. Please review your calendar and let us know your commitment to race the second half of the season.

Gary

Delta Ditch

Hi Gang: Well done to all of you on a great Ditch sail....we were the first to finish in our division but corrected out to 7th with Yucca in first place with a corrected time of 10;54;05 versus our corrected time of 12;22;37. Our actual time on the course was 09:44:23 whereas Yucca took 09:59:04 so obviously our rating versus hers leaves a lot to be desired but we sailed a great race and caught most of the boats ahead of us---only a Melges 32 beat us to the finish line in the mono division. Great race by all .......sante'
